It is
wonderful to return to a place that brought me so much joy in my
childhood. For someone coming from Dagenham, Southend and Leigh
brings back warm memories of Rossi's ice cream, cockles and
mussels, the Pier, my first hamburger and frothy coffee.
Yet faith has little to do with nostalgia. It is the window to the
Living God who is with us in every time and place.
All these gifts of memories prompt me to offer back to people
here, the most wonderful gift of all: the good news of Jesus
Christ.
