Westerley, Westcliff is set near the town centre of Southend on Sea. The property was purchased by Mutual Aid Homes in 1947 and converted, from a hotel, into a Residential Care Home for elderly Methodist (or Wesleyan Reform) Local Preachers, their widows, widowers or dependants. All denominations are now welcomed into residence if they support the fundamental values of life in a Christian community.
The Home was officially opened in 1949, and extended in 2001. Structural repairs and improvements to the property have been made over the years to ensure that the Home provides up to date facilities for the care of elderly persons.
